Let Spring Begin

Hi everyone,
Don't know about you but I'm really in need of some warm Spring weather. Finally over Covid that ruined my Christmas.

There's  a new collection from Craft Consortium, designed by Helz Cuppleditch. I love her whimsical characters and this new collection does not disappoint. There are very appealing gnome-like characters in adorable spring settings with rabbits and eggs and lots of spring flowers. Great for young and the young-at-heart, too.

The papers come as usual in 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 sizes, a co-ordinating pad of plain papers for matting, decoupage pad, 2 sets of stamps, a 3d embossing folder, chipboard ephemera, wooden bees, enamel flowers and a new item - an A6 premium marker pad. This collection just keeps giving.

Here's my first sample for Craft consortium. I do love a fancy fold and lately I've been definitely making smaller cards in response to postage costs and economy of paper/card. This is not a fold Ive designed but I have made up my own sizes to suit the papers in the 6x6 pad. If you know who the original designer of the style is, please let me now so I can credit them.

1.The base is made with 8 x 5 1/2 " card so you can get 2 from one sheet of A4. (250gsm max)

2.I scored the card on the 8" side at 2" from left and right. Turned base 90 degrees, then using my trimmer I cut at 1 1/4" between the score lines on both sides.

3. Turn 90 degrees again so it is right way up. score down the middle at 4" from top to cut and from lower cut to bottom.

4. Score 1" inside the 2" score line and again from right hand score line to create pop out panel in the centre - see diagram.

5. This centre panel will now accommodate the panels from the 6" paper pad.

6. I matted all panels 1/8" smaller each time and trimmed the focus panel very slightly to fit.

7. Add white layer to back for  own message.

You can easily upscale it to fit whole sheet of A4 using panel from 12 x 12 pad.

Do let me know if you try this fold. You can let me know in the comments below or on my facebook page Elegant_Edges_Crafts - link at the bottom of the post. Let Spring Begin everyone!
