Hidden greeting showstopper card

I had to make another fancy card with the beautiful papers from Craft Consortium's Let Spring Begin collection. Here is a really different one as it combines a fancy fold with an extra layer - a smaller card on the large panel.

I cut the climbing flowers panel and the wreath topper from the 12 x 12 pad, the wordy papers and teal flowers from the 6 x 6 pad and the main words from a decoupage sheet. I stamped and coloured the rabbit with alcohol markers. all the mats were from the preium co-ordinating paper pad. These papers are all wonderful as you know they are going to work so well. Inside the topper card I stamped and coloured again with alcohol markers, taking the colours from the papers. To male sure this extra card layer remains closed and hides my greeting, I fussy cut a toadstool and added this to the base with a tiny brad. you could also just stick on a focal image and add a matted layer of white to the back of the card to write.

1. Base: 250-300gsm 5 1/2 x 12"   score 2,4,6, 8 but don't fold or crease yet.  Turn through 90 degrees, measure down 1 1/4"  and cut with trimmer between 2" and 6" score lines. Turn card over and repeat along other side at bottom of card. Now fold and crease the score lines to match photo.

2. Extra card - 3 1/8 x 8, score and fold at 4. This will stay closed better if you use thinner card than base!

3. Mats    4@ 1/34 x 1                                    DSP   4@1 5/8 x 7/8

                2@1 3/4 x 5 1/4                                        2@ 1 5/8 x 5 1/8

                2@ 1/3/4 x 2 3/4                                       2@1 5/8 x 2 5/8

                1@ 3 3/4 x 5 1/4                                        1 @ 3 3/8 x 5 1/8

                1@ 2 7/8 x 3 7/8                                        1@2 3/4 x 3 3/4  (from card panel sheet)

If you onlyhave A4 cardstock, I would suggest you reduce the width of panels 2, 3  by 1/8" and  trim the last panel to match.

I would like to credit Linda Bauwin for inspring me with one of her cards but as always I have tweaked bits to match the beautiful papers.

As always, I would appreciate if you left me a lovely comment below and subscribed.   If you make a card like this, please feel free to add it to my facebook page:  Elegant_edges_crafts
