Lately I've been trying to use up scraps of Stampin'Up! DSP from older suites as the annual catalogue will be out soon.
I really love this paper from the Hues of Happiness Suite, the dies are lovely too with some that cut out the pretty blooms and there are useful stamps in the set.
Here is what I made with some scraps
Card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 heavy weight basic white, scored at 4 1/8. (US 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4) (edited as I trimmed base to 5 1/2)
Ordinary basic white - 2 x 5 1/2, score every 1/2" on long side - do not fold
scraps 1/2" wide DSP, co-ordinating cardstock
Flowers and leaves cut from DSP
Gems
Here is how I made it:
Comparing the embossed card front and plain one I made first; I like both, just different.

Just a quick post today but I couldn't wait to share this project.
I've been so busy making cards with the Hello Irresistible DSP that I thought they would make a super gift and decided to make a box for them, Giving a handful of cards doesnt look anywhere near as impressive as a they do in a pretty box. You could also use this box for keeping photos afterwards if you didnt want to refil it with cards or even pop some Easter chocs inside. I mustn't get thinking about chocs!! Did you spot the pretty Crinkled Seam Binding too? Just a little delicate finishing touch! Oops - forgot to add the Frosted dots - not in the photo but imagine three little dark greenish frosted dots. Im adding these to all the makes with these papers - there are so many in the pot that you can afford to be generous. 😊
I made it to fit European C6 size envelopes. It measures 7 x 5 x 1 . There are lots of tutorials on YT but made for US cards and too small for UK. I based this on a tutorial by JanB and tweaked it a little, adding extra layers tomake the 6 x6 DSP fit and inking the die-cut flowers. I think a gift like this with a set of cards would make a fun card class. Private message me if you would be interested.

I'm sure you guessed that it wouldn't take me long to start using the new StampinUp! Hello Irresistible Suite!
Here is a sweet pop up card that used pillars to create the dimension and also fold flat. I've made various styles of pillar cards before and there are several tutorials on YouTube but as usual I've put my own twist on it and sized to fit A4 card for UK and Europe. This card has an acetate window aperture to support the beautiful bloom; I sized the circular border on the front to fit the circular die and allow the contrasting Flirty Flamingo card to show through. It is adhered to a proper folding card base so there is enough room to write - one of my pet peeves with some card styles!
Here are the Imperial dimensions I used:
Base card: 4 1/8 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 DSP 3 7/8 x 5 1/4
Basic white inside layer 3 7/8 x 5 1/4
Acetate window sheet:3 1/2 x 3 1/2 (needs to be large enough to hide behind the aperture allowing for DSP to adhere to inside of card
Front pop up section: 4 1/8 x 9 1/2 score at 1/2 , 1 1/4 , 2 , 2 3/4 from either side DSP 3 3/4 x 3 7/8
1. Make up the card base with DSP.. Stamp greeting onto basic white and decorate with 1/2 flowers and leaves from the edge of respective DSP sheets.
2.Fold and burnish all the score lines on pop up section (Mountain folds). 3.Cut aperture in centre of front DSP with 3 3/8 circle die and adhere to card section. 4. Cut another aperture through the card with 2 3/8 circle die making sure there is an even border around the die. 5. fix acetate window sheet to back of pop up with DST or Seal 6. Apply glue of choice to the 1/2" tabs on the pop up. fold under one pillar at a time and press down leaving 3/4" section showing . When you release, the pillar should be formed. Repeat with the other side. 7. Adhere one pillar at a time to the card with glue of choice. I used DST plus wet glue. Fold the pillar under and line up the right hand edge of right pillar with the outside edge of card base and also top/bottom. Hold for minute. when you release it should be stuck 3/4" inside card base. Repeat with left hand side. Check that both sides fold both ways to form flat card for posting
8. Decorate front by sticking circle die using tiny dots tombow to circles and gently lay in place centrally withing the card border. 9. Die cut or fussy cut smaller flower plus 3 white lacy leaves. Form arrangement and adhere with Seal or Seal+10. Embellish with Loose frosted dots and tiny dots Tombow.
Please don't be put off by the detailed instructions. I often make a trial version out of copy paper first to check my sizes and methods before commiting to cardstock. Then I scribble on sizes and keep for reference for another time!

Well, it's officially the Vernal Equinox today and the first day of Spring. Noone told the weather though and it's raining here.
My card today uses the Irresistible Blooms Suite collection and the die on the edge panel really makes me think of the rain on the windows of my craft room.
My thanks go to Sue Campfield for her Flying Finch fold that I used for the card. I have a real weakness for fancy folds - just in case you hadn't noticed, and this one stands really well. I just realised it's all F-s; Flying Finch made with Flirty Flamingo card! I just love the pretty colour and how well it shows off the DSP . The 3D embossing folder Ive used comes from the new Basic trio set. This one with the cross-hatching is lovely.
TIP!!!
Cut the card a little larger than requires, spritz with water before embossing and leave to dry. Them cut card to size. There is so much 3d dimension that it makes the card shrink a little and I might be a little OCD but I prefer it all to match in size.
I used the Multi-purpose wet glue throughout as I find it easier to line up layers with a little slippage time. I adhered the die-cuts with a tiny dab on the back of the dots and used a scrap of card with smear of glue to get under the strands. Wow! All tips today!!

Here's a super quick Thank you card for all the great women out there; mums, stepmums, grandmas, aunts, those who act in a caring way whether the kids were actually yours or not and that includes all the teachers, nurses and kind people who just give love. Thank you 💕
I intended to make one of those lattice type cards I've been seeing on Social media lately but this evolved.
It's basically a z-fold card with two extra z's. I can't claim any kudos for this and Im sure it has probably been made before by someone, somewhere but I like it. I used up strip I had from previous projects too, so a great winner.
Quick tip - the stamp didn't have a mat so I drew my cloud-shape around the stamped image with a soft pencil and then cut out with the super sharp snips - I got a much better result and the white space was more even !!!!!
Hope you try it - if you do, please tag me in Socials. Id so love to see your makes with this simpe idea

It's just beginning to feel as though Spring isn't too far away. The days are getting longer and the clocks go forward soon; that means much better light in my craft room! I do hate having to have the electric light on all day.
My SU haul of goodies arrived including the new Online Exclusives; Hello Irresistible Suite Collection, new 3D embossing folders and some new colour cardstock to co-ordinate with the DSP; Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Soft Sea foam. It also coordinates with two old ones that I assume will be coming back in the colour refresh that is coming ready for the new annual catalogue. can't wait to see what is in it. If you have ordered from me in the past 6 months, I will automatically post you a physical catalogue, when it is out, so you can thumb through it and drool!!!
I'm really happy that two circle punches have made a comeback - 2" and 1 3/4". such useful sizes. Definitely worth getting as soon as they are available again - won't be long to wait! As a demo I'm allowed to preorder goodies before they become available to everyone - this really is a huge perk of the job, apart from the discount!!! We all love a discount, don't we! If you have been thinking of even PERHAPS looking into becoming a demo, contact me for a chat - no pressure, just info. You can also trial it and if it isn't for you, just stop and go back to being one of my customers. No loss, no penalties, no minimum contract...... You can make it a business, it can be a hobby that pays for your crafty addiction, or you can just be your own best customer and get discount- anyway is good. I have been really busy with the lovely Abigail Rose Collection from Stampin'Up!. I realised that I had rather overlooked these beautiful papers so it was time to remedy this. The papers are a timeless mix of full blown roses with subtle shades of cream and brown. Petal pink and hints of gold bring them to life. How beautiful would they be for weddings?
This unusual card is really interactive. I believe the actual card design belongs to Srushti Patil but I would also like to credit Maria's Crafting Corner for her version. It is called a "Tricky"card
Two folded panels pull out to reveal folded wings. Ive left space for a stamped greeting and space to write a message. I often do this when I am not sure who the recipient will be so I can personalise it. The finished size is 4" x 4 5/8" folded and will fit into a 5" square envelope or C6 with some supporting card to go in the post.
Im adding a list of products that I used to make it but it would suit almost any DSP. If you like this particular paper, hop over to my Stampin'Up store soon as the curret catalogue expires in April 2023 and I have no idea if it will continue into the new one. I do know that I'll be ordering more papers as we have a wedding invitation later in the year.

If you have someone special to make a card for, it might need to be a real showstopper and I think this one fits the bill.
Fancyfold cards are my real favourites so I am always looking to try out new ideas. This fold started with a sketch by my fellow Stampin'Up! demo Lavanne Scwendemann but I had to add my own twist on her idea; changing dimensions and tweaking until I came up with this. It folds into 5 x 7 so it will fit a standard size envelope and is made from one sheet of card. As they say, it's all in the folds! It stands beautifully on its own and has a great
I don't think it would have been so easy without my Trimmer that makes intricate cutting ands scoring a breeze. Its home is permanently on my desk or at my side to make a little more room.
I've used the Abigail Rose DSP from Stampin'Up! again and employed the "Spotlight" technique on the dark brown papers. If you are not familiar with this, it just means highlighting part of a pretty paper layer by colouring it. I've used Petal Pink Stampin'Blends and accentuated the areas of the flowers where there is shading with the darker shade of pink. And it perfectlymatches the same shade in the DSP - this is one thing that I love about SU - everything matches.
I'm slowly destashing some of the stash I have in my craftroom that no longer gets used. If you like a crafty bargain look out for my posts on Facebook.
This large skinny alphabet is a fairly new purchase and is great for personalising projects. It's called "Alphabet à la mode" and also includes foreign symbols/letters - great for me with my love of foreign languages and if you like a little "je ne sais quoi" added to your cards.
I'm trying to grow my YT channel so if you would like to try this fold, subscribe to me on YouTube and send me a private message with your email address so I can send you a copy of the template. I would love to hear if you make it and see your cards, too.
Please see below for my socials where I would love you to follow me / like and subscribe and also a list of the products with a direct link to my SU shop.
Hi again, here are the dimensions that go with the YouTube tutorial showing how I made the thank you card that is going out to all my StampinUp customers in February with a little personal surprise from me to show my appreciation of their orders.
I was absolutely full of cold when I was trying to record the tutorial - Note to self, don't! Wait until you feel better! Hopefully, you will still understand despite the disjointed instructions, sniffs and retake.
Today is the 26th February and Sale-a-bration ends on February 28th so there are 2 more days to get orders in and gain some freebies with orders over £45. Don't miss out as we will have to wait another year for this event to come round again! You can take a look at the SAB here.
If you decide to place an order over £30 please quote the host code BQJANJFN on your order to get a little extra something from me next month!
I chose to use the Adorable Owls stamp set and the Dandy Designs DSP as these two items were the most popular items with my customers in SAB and I hope this gives you all a little inspiration. This card style is so easy to adapt for any occasion. I would love to see what you make with it.
If anyone is even mulling over becoming a demo, just contact me and we can chat to discuss. There is no minimum time you have to stay. It can be the first step to a new business or you can just take the discount and be your own best customer. If it's not for you, just go back to being my customer again! (You have to live in UK, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Belgoim or Ireland to join my team or became a customer with me).

Since I showed this card recently, I've made several similar ones, landscape and portrait. So many people have asked me to show them how. There are many versions of a joyfold card and I had to tweak dimensions to work with A4 card. This was inspired by my fellow SU demo Karen Titus.
Ive used the really useful Cane Weave embossing folder from StampinUp; great for all occasions and can be made masculine or feminine as needed. The DSP is no longer available but the base card is - Rich Razzleberry - such a fantastic shade to contrast with the Fresh freesia embossed card.
In the portrait ecards on YouTube I used Calypso Coral with Pedtal pink.
I have written instructions that are meant to go with the YouTube video. If you would like a copy of the PDF, please subscribe to my YT channel and private message me your email.
For my SU customers, add the Host code BQJANJFN to your orders over £30 in March to get both the PDF and an extra freebie from me as a thank you for your order.
If you do not have a SU demo and would like to order products, I would be very pleased to be your demo. Here is the link to my SU Shop and the current product codes are listed below.
I have had the beautiful Abigail Rose Collection from StampinUp for months now but haven't been able to cut into the papers. All crafters will understand my pain but now is the time as I saw this card made by my fellow SU demo Fiona Whitten with different papers that totally inspired me to make it.
It was really straightforward to make; just an ordinary portrait card, scored in half down the front and folded back to make a Z fold. The stepped strips across the front give it real "mantlepiece" appeal and the beautiful Cottage Rose stamp a great focal image. I will certainly be making more cards in this style in the futire.
If you want to try it too, pop over to Fiona's tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3geTymu09Fk. Her card sizes are metric.
Note to self: I really must not hoard paper! Who am I kidding? LOL.
